The clock for a video is shown in the lower left part of the screen, and indicates the elapsed time for race. Since media files may come from different sources, each has their own concept of the gun (0:00) time. In most cases, you do not need to worry about this.
Typically, the clock time is set when you press Set 0 (or Set 30) in VRT Nikon. The clock may be incorrect due to the following reasons:
- Multiple Audio Recordings
The symptom is the finish times are much higher than expected. This may occur if the Starter aborts the lineup and you stop and restart the recording. VRT Timing defaults to the first one, and if that is incorrect, you need to select a new clock. Usually you can use the Nikon video clock directly by tapping the Gun button under Calibrate on the left side. - Missed Gun, but a team time known from an external source
If the gun was not captured on the computer, but you have the time of one of the teams from an external source (usually a stopwatch in the timing tent), you can calibrate all teams using that time. Set the Rank first in the upper left combo box (or tap Rank 1 if it's the first place team), then set the time. The other teams will automatically get set.
